This workshop is available to any farmer or land manager in Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Cornwall, or the Isles of Scilly currently in receipt of BPS payments. 11.30am to 12.30pm - Presentation on SFI.This will conclude with a farm walk where we will take a practical look at how SFI can work alongside the current farm practices. During the session we will explore the payments offered, go through the application process, and what is required to comply. Under the new schemes, on farm payments can reach an average of £200/ha depending on options chosen.

As part of the Agricultural Transition, Defra introduced the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) in 2022 with the aim to support farmers looking after the natural environment in the course of their farming. With reduction of income from the Basic Payment Scheme over the next few years, all farmers are considering how to continue to develop their profitable farm businesses.
